Kentfield's Outpatient Center provides pulmonary rehabilitation
for patients with debilitating respiratory diseases. Our five-week
Medicare-approved program focuses on education and exercise,
benefiting both newly diagnosed and more functionally impaired
patients.
Goal
Our goal is to reduce the symptoms and the need for repeat
hospitalizations by:

- reducing severity and frequency of exacerbations
- improving coping skills
- increasing physical endurance
- improving performance of daily activities
- educating about the disease process
Treatment
Our interdisciplinary team treats each patient using:
- progressive strengthening and reconditioning
- instruction in correct breathing techniques
- pharmaceutical assessment and management
- relaxation training
- home exercise programs
