Hand Therapy Program
Kentfield's hand therapy program provides specialized outpatient
services for patients with hand problems. Early intervention
is important for a more rapid recovery and faster return to
functional activities.
Hand and Upper Extremity Disorders
Certified hand therapists provide comprehensive therapy services
to those with:
- repetitive strain injury
- arthritis (including joint replacement)
- hand and wrist fracture
- traumatic and peripheral nerve injury
- neurological dysfunction due to stroke or head injury
- complex regional pain syndrome
- thoracic outlet syndrome
Treatment
Our multifaceted approach includes
- custom splinting
- muscle reeducation
- functional retraining
- flexibility and strength training
- myofascial and soft tissue release and self-release
- modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis
and TENS)
- body mechanics and postural training
