Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital is an acute care hospital with a specialty in the care of medically complex patients with or without rehabilitation needs. This designation is called LTACH, or Long Term Acute Care Hospital. LTACH facilities bridge the gap between the critical care units and the medical/surgical units of general acute care hospitals. We provide a clinical setting capable of treating long stay, acute patients who are medically complex and often fragile.
Our clinical criteria require that:
- Patients are no longer in the crisis intervention stage of treatment;
- They have completed their initial diagnostic work-up; There are no planned major invasive surgical procedures;
- They have a prognosis of a long stay in an acute setting. (Our average length of stay exceeds 25 days);
- They can be safely transferred.
Patients may have:
- Serious wounds;
- Cardiac disease;
- Renal disease;
- Infections;
- Other systemic disease.
