Stroke Rehabilitation
We provide specialized programs for patients with cerebral
vascular accidents (CVA) and other neurological disabilities,
including brain tumors and encephalitis. Treatment is provided
by our experienced rehabilitation nursing and therapy staff.
A physician, board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation,
directs the program. Depending upon individual needs, rehabilitative
care is available on an inpatient or outpatient level.
Program Goals
Throughout the program, patients work toward:
- independence in self-care skills
- mobility with or without adaptive equipment
- psychosocial adjustment
- independent living at home and in the community
- knowledge of available resources
Program Approach
As part of our coordinated treatment program, we encourage
the following:
- intensive individual and group therapy
- patient and family education
- effective discharge planning including home evaluation
and appropriate equipment
- communication with referral sources and insurance case
managers
- continuity of care through outpatient services and support
groups
Local and national resources are also available.
