Spinal Cord Injury Program
Available to both inpatients and outpatients, Kentfield's spinal cord injury program provides specialized care to individuals with a wide range of diagnoses.

Treatment
Through aggressive integrated therapies and modalities, patients with recent or long-standing problems in spinal cord function maximize their potential for mobility and self-care. Treatment by our multidisciplinary team includes:

  • interdisciplinary rehabilitation therapy
  • comprehensive urological, pulmonary, pain management and wound care consultations
  • pharmacological and dietary modifications
  • psychology/neuropsychology for patient and family adjustment
  • sexual counseling
  • equipment identified for functional independence
  • community resources recommended at discharge

Education
At Kentfield, we believe that education is an important part of the treatment process. Our program focuses on patient and family education regarding:

  • spinal cord physiology
  • bowel and bladder care
  • skin care
  • pulmonary hygiene
  • psychosocial adjustment
